FORCE’s new Barnesville, Ohio saltwater disposal well is a game changer
CARENCRO, La. – July 29, 2020 – FORCE Environmental Solution’s new Barnesville, Ohio, saltwater disposal well is strategically located in proximity to FORCE’s Barnesville, Ohio, yard and the Pennsylvania border.
Operators in Pennsylvania’s Marcellus/Utica plays face challenges when it comes to saltwater disposal because the state’s geology has been considered unsuitable for saltwater disposal wells.
That’s why FORCE, a wholly owned operating brand of OMNI Environmental Solutions, headquartered in Indiana, Pa., jumped at the opportunity to acquire the Buckeye well, situated just off I-70 — three miles from FORCE’s Barnesville, Ohio, yard and closer to Pennsylvania than any other commercial disposal well in Ohio.
“It was the perfect opportunity for us to add to our portfolio of wells,” OMNI CEO Courtney Brackin said.
The only sticking point about the well is its distinctively Ohio name.
“Most of us from Pennsylvania are Penn State fans so we are trying to change the well to the Nittany (lion) well instead of the Buckeye,” FORCE VP Bryan Force joked. On a more serious note, he added, “we started taking water as the ink was drying [on the contract] and have maxed the well out almost every day since.
“It is a great addition to our toolbelt. It will help us service customers more efficiently. We are grateful to get the deal done.”
